Why would I disappear? She vanished from my world, so I vanished from hers? But they're not supposed to be connected; things aren't supposed to affect each other like that.

This is wrong.

... Do any of you even make plans for what would happen if you or one of your... one of your associates disappeared? Or do you just ignore the fact that it could happen?

Mmm. Perhaps in nature, but not so much in effect. The essence of death is inability to effect the world. The essence of disappearance is not being present, and thus effecting the world is equally impossible. The only real difference that I can see is that death can verified and disappearance cannot.

Not to those that remain, not if those that are gone cannot be found. Certainly in the case of disappearance, I would always be aware of a possibility of return, and do everything in my power to create one. But until that return, there is little difference.
