Because for most people, love is unique. I mean, sure, you can feel it several times throughout your life, but it's going to be different every time.

Well, it is to me.

Because it just... is. Love is inspired by the things you care about, and chances are the reasons you care about each thing are going to be unique among themselves. Not only that, but love rarely stops when the object of your affection disappears. There could be a hundred other people or possessions you care about, but it's hard--if not impossible--to replace what was lost.
