{VIDEO POST}

[Have Azula bumming around Togusa's world, where she evacuated with Cuddy and Rachel-- she still looked exhausted and messy and gross 8)]

So they can't just show up here, can they?

... You have no idea what I'd do for a bath, a change of clothes, and a bed.

I haven't slept in a day and a half; I'm going to find a change of clothes somewhere, take a bath, and then go to bed. "Tourist stuff" can wait.

OOC: Okay! And Azula already has a cell, so. 8)

I know the feeling.

((Not one that works in The Future. :>))

You said they didn't do much here.

OOC: Ah, but the Fifth Doctor fixed it so it works everywhere. ;D

I've gone flat-out for that long before. I just got lucky and didn't have to this time.

[He says it mildly. He's getting used to Azula.]

[voice] Liar.

I used to be. I work private security now.

Sometimes, but it's not really the best use of resources to put me on bodyguard detail. Cyborgs are much better at that. I'm a detective.

It's nothing at all like the movies. I don't spend nearly that much time in bars.

I wouldn't know the clichés; I haven't seen any movies about detectives.

I've seen most of them. My wife loves all that noir stuff from last century. She teases me about not being as good as movie detectives.

[He doesn't sound like this bothers him; rather, he sounds quite affectionate.]

She might have a point. It takes me considerably longer than an hour and a half to solve my cases.

[Nice try, Azula. His detective skills are the one thing he doesn't have an inferiority complex about.]

That's the normal length of films, I'm assuming?

[identity profile] honestcop.livejournal.com 2009-10-25 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
In that neighborhood. Older ones tend to run longer.

I've only seen a few; I don't know how old they were, though. One was from... 1997, apparently.

[voice] That's before he was born. >_>

[identity profile] honestcop.livejournal.com 2009-10-25 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
That's only about a decade old for Dr. Cuddy's time. The trend was for shorter movies then. Not many ran longer than two hours.

I know; it's 2009 on her world.

... Two hours is still a long time.

Is it?

[Genuine curiosity. Sitting around staring at a screen for hours is normal where he comes from.]

For a movie, yes. Don't the people of Earth have anything better to do?

[voice]

[identity profile] honestcop.livejournal.com 2009-10-25 06:36 pm (UTC)(link)
It's leisure time. Don't you have theater performances where you come from?

Re: [voice]

Yes, but they're not hours and hours long.

Shakespeare's histories run about four hours, you know. Movies are downright short.

We don't have Shakespeare on my world; I don't know what that is.
