Well, my point is that if they did it anonymously, they didn't feel comfortable enough to say it when you'd know who they were, and this post doesn't really exude calm understanding or anything, so they're probably still not going to want to say it to your face. That's why I suggested guilttripping.

Yeah, I know you don't know me, but you seem like you have a lot of stuff going on and sometimes talking to someone helps, even when you don't know them or anything. I mean, I used to rant to people on anonymous message boards all the time, it was really relieving to have people talking me through stuff.

I didn't tell you who the person was because it never came up, not because it's some big secret. And I know that the anonymous commenter wasn't one of my parents, which blows your "parental issues" theory out of the water.

And for the record, plenty of people don't have friends. I'm above that sort of thing.
