The End to a Good Day

All things considered, Azula's day had been quite satisfying- both in business and otherwise. All advancements of the troops were going as planned, and no unexpected setbacks had arisen- quite an unusual occurrence for the past few weeks. War matters aside, the (strictly rationed) leisure time that she had allowed herself had gone well, too. Ty Lee asking permission to come for a visit was... well, "the icing on the cake", so to speak.

When Princess Azula was in a good mood, it was usually easy to tell- she might not have shown it on her face or in her words, but the number of traumatized-looking servants tended to decrease dramatically. Today, she had only managed to completely petrify one- a new girl, who hadn't been around long enough to realize that idle threats of scorched hands for not heating the bathwater enough were par for the course in Azula's wing of the palace.

It was peculiar, really- that another person could affect Azula's mood this much. Ordinarily she might have frowned upon it, but tonight... it didn't really matter.

Ty Lee had felt the need of a visit. There really had been no reason. Perhaps it was because Ramza was never present, and when he was there...She would shrug it off. Oh well.

"May I come in?"

The answer would be "yes" of course.

Azula rose from her chair. "You may."

Ty Lee entered, walking towards Azula and mumbled a thanks.

"Are you all right?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

Ty Lee stopped. "What? Yeah, I am."

"All right. I was just wondering."

"I'm just happy to see you."

Azula smiled just the tiniest bit at that.

She was next to Azula by then, and gave her a light hug.

Azula returned it, slightly surprised (though she wasn't really sure why- Ty Lee had said that this was why she was coming over, after all).

She gripped her tighter, laying her head on Azula's shoulder.

Azula stroked her hair. "Is there any particular reason for this?"

"Does there need to be?"

"Not at all. I was just wondering."

"You always think so...logically, Azula." She turned her head, lightly nuzzling Azula's neck.

"It's my nature," Azula said softly, kissing Ty Lee's cheek. "I am logical, first and foremost. I don't allow other things to get in my way."

"I always forget," she said lightly, moving her head from Azula's shoulder to lighty kiss her cheek before resting it back. "You ought to make exceptions sometimes."

"You can be so..." Ty Lee gripped Azula tighter at that. "Uptight sometimes."

"I'm not uptight." She paused. "I'm just... driven. Determined."

"... What do you think I'm doing right now?"
