It's odd the way people come and go from this place. Oftentimes, it doesn't even seem to be of their own will. I've noticed that when someone suddenly stops being able to access the community, they disappear from their home worlds, as well- it's a bizarre phenomenon, and I don't like it. If I were to suddenly disappear from my world, there's no telling what sort of chaos and anarchy would descend upon it. And there are other people that I don't want to disappear, either. It would be a complete disaster.

Those who have left do occasionally return, at least, though it seems to come with a price- except for a few rare cases, they return with their memories completely wiped of any and all time spent here. All that experience, and knowledge gained... lost, forever. The thought is almost disorienting.

I wonder if there's a definite way to prevent this from happening.

Aw. I promise, I won't ever leave. You can stop worrying.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-10-21 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
That wasn't the point of this entry.

[identity profile] sunao-punch.livejournal.com 2008-10-21 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course it was! You're worried that I'll leave and forget all about you.

[identity profile] sunao-punch.livejournal.com 2008-10-21 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
You're just too shy to admit it~

[identity profile] sunao-punch.livejournal.com 2008-10-21 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I can see you're very embarrased that I figured it out. I guess I'll leave you alone, while you try to get over this.

... I wouldn't like that either.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-10-22 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
At least you're not important on your world.

[personal profile] pandorabox 2008-10-22 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
...

See? I try to be nice to you and you act completely rude! Geez!

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-10-22 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
I was simply stating a fact.

[personal profile] pandorabox 2008-10-22 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
In a rude way.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-10-22 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
Fine, then.

"With all due respect, while your concerns may be passably valid, mine are of much greater concern considering my status."

Better?

[personal profile] oceanicbutterfly 2008-10-22 07:17 am (UTC)(link)
My understanding was that it just wiped memories. If something as unpredictable as this community has the power to potentially erase someone completely from existence...

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-10-22 12:29 pm (UTC)(link)
They certainly don't just disappear from the community- people from their home worlds wonder where they are, as well. I believe there was a case a month or so ago where someone with the ability to "sense" the presence of the missing person at all times suddenly lost track of him entirely, as if he didn't exist at all.
oceanicbutterfly: (hmm)

[personal profile] oceanicbutterfly 2008-10-22 04:01 pm (UTC)(link)
It might be that it happens in different ways sometimes. I know Nozomi hasn't disappeared, even though she hasn't come back since that one time.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-10-22 04:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, that was different, wasn't it? She wasn't actually here.

Besides, the fact that it "might not happen" doesn't change the fact that it still might.
oceanicbutterfly: (thoughtful)

[personal profile] oceanicbutterfly 2008-10-22 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
...how so?

But it might be that it depends entirely on the person in question. If the possibility doesn't actually exist at all, there's no sense in worrying about it. You can't really tell without more information.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-10-22 04:28 pm (UTC)(link)
She only came once. She never had a journal. If a virus had been going on, it's likely that she would have been immune, because they only seem to affect people who are active participants of the community.

Perhaps. Perhaps not. We really have no way of telling whether the possibility exists or not.

... And I'm certainly not worrying about anything.

[identity profile] createdpower.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
How have you verified that beings actually do vanish?

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Those from their world verify it.

[identity profile] createdpower.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 05:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Interesting. Who disappeared, and who can attest to it?

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't remember their names. I've just seen people talking about it.

[identity profile] createdpower.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I see.

What lead you to believe that his or her disappearance is related to the community?

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-10-23 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Because it's happened more than once, much in the same way each time.
