(no subject)

For those of you who are at least passingly familiar with the United States- what are your favorite places to visit on the East Coast? I'll be going to New York for business purposes in a week or so, and I'm likely to have a day or so of free time.

Also- Karen, would you like to come?

I find the fact that you're visiting New York to be incredibly ironic, especially since we had a conversation where you said you'd never visit New York because it was grimy.

Which it is. Take the subway!

Parts of the city are grimy. And I never said that I'd never visit- in fact, I go there quite often.

Don't be ridiculous. I'll be riding in a limousine.

Oh right. Since you live in Tokyo and all that crap.

Better if you ride the subway! You can't get the full city experience in a limousine.

Tokyo is far superior to New York.

What, you mean I'd miss out on encounters with drug dealers, prostitutes, and the homeless? That's not the sort of experience I'm looking for.

I know, I live in Tokyo, remember? Doesn't mean New York isn't awesome in it's own right.

Hey! That's only if you ride it at night! During the day it's full of teenagers and businessmen.

I try not to think about the fact that you live in the same city as me, even if it is an alternate universe.

The sort of people that I encounter on a daily basis. What's so special about that?

[personal profile] pandorabox 2009-01-16 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, I'm the Tokyo native here, you're just a virus-affected poser.

You meet them on a subway!

[personal profile] pandorabox 2009-01-16 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep. It's lasting a long time, for a virus.

Yes!

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm beginning to think that you're never going to snap out of it.

It's my trip, and I'm saying no.

[personal profile] pandorabox 2009-01-16 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I really hope you two snap out of it soon.

Boring.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, quit feeling sorry for yourself. At least you don't have a stalker.

[personal profile] pandorabox 2009-01-16 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not feeling sorry for myself, I'm feeling sorry for Karen and Ty Lee.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
You have no reason to feel sorry for Karen. As for the stalker, she deserves what she gets.

[personal profile] pandorabox 2009-01-16 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
... ha. You'll see. When this finally wears off.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
And just what, exactly, do you think is going to happen?

[personal profile] pandorabox 2009-01-16 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
You will freak out and yell at the entire community, Karen will be immensely embarrassed but probably laugh it off.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
You're basing your judgements on a version of me that only exists in your mind.

[personal profile] pandorabox 2009-01-16 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I'm basing my judgments on the real you.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
The real me is the one you're speaking to now.

[personal profile] pandorabox 2009-01-16 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, I'm not sure why I bother...
