A little while after finishing her text conversation with Aradia, Azula hopped on over to the Land of Quartz and Melody to pick up Aradia for another movie night. She wasn't in any particular hurry, so she just started to walk around a bit, figuring she'd run into the robot girl sooner or later.

"You can definitely be nice and a jerk at the same time. Most trolls are like that. What's his name?" Aradia asked casually, watching the movie screen. A good part was coming up.

Azula hesitated for a moment. Maybe Aradia would talk to him and decide that he was just so nice and gentlemanly, and that any problem he had with Azula was clearly her own fault. Maybe he'd tell her lies and exaggerations about what had happened between them-- or maybe he'd tell her the truth, but twist it and leave out everything bad that he'd done. Or maybe he'd--

... On second thought, Azula wasn't sure why she should care, so she decided to force herself not to.

"Larsa Solidor. I could show you some of the ridiculous things he's said sometime; they're mostly all public." She was careful to sound casual, and not at all desperate to have someone unequivocally on her side.

"Hmm, don't know him," Aradia said. She sensed Azula's hesitation, and gave her a squeeze around her waist. She didn't want to know who he was so she could second-guess Azula's feelings. She wanted to know so she could keep an eye on someone who'd hurt her moirail. "If you want to show me, you can," she added with a gentle smile. "But I don't need proof."

"It's actually sort of funny," Azula said, still keeping the casual tone. "How delusional he is, I mean. I think I'll show you sometime just for that." She had the links saved, of course, in case she needed to whip them out at a moment's notice to prove her case to someone. Azula's butthurt knew no bounds.

"That does sound funny," Aradia said, smiling. "Well, then I'd like to see them! I'd like to know who's being a jerk to you, and how, after all."

"There are a lot of jerks around. And maybe for a few of them it's because I was a jerk too, but in most cases they either started it or blew something small out of proportion."

"I guess everyone's a jerk sometimes. Even me! But there are jerks who are just jerks, and there are jerks who've hurt you for real. It sounds like this Larsa guy is more like the latter."

"Hmmm," Azula said, noncommittally. It was true that some of the things Larsa had said had hurt her, but she wasn't really sure she liked admitting that. "Well, I didn't have a crush on him." She'd just kissed him, that's all. More than once.

Aradia glanced up at her curiously. "Not at all?"

She shifted a little. "Not really."

Aradia smiled a little. "It's okay if you did."

"Well if I did, it was inconsequential. Tiny. His was huge."

"Uh huh," Aradia was grinning now. "Sure it was. And that's why you hate him so much now - because you didn't really care at all."

"I dislike him because he was a jerk. He said some horrible things."

"I know," Aradia said patiently, the knowing of a troll who considers hate to just be another kind of love. "But if you hadn't liked him at first, you wouldn't have cared about the things he said."

"No, plenty of people have said things that made me angry, even when I'd never liked them in the first place."

"But this seems different," Aradia prompted gently. "Isn't it? He hurt you with those things he said."

She huffed. "How angry I was had nothing to do with him personally. It had to do with what was said. I hate Cross more than I hate him, and he's the last person I'd ever have a crush on."

Aradia giggled goodnaturedly and snuggled up a little. "Okay, if you say so, Azula. What did he say that was so awful, anyway?"

"Cross or Larsa? People say awful things to me all the time."

"Larsa," Aradia said sweetly.

"It's pretty complicated, but he'd insult me a lot because I wouldn't date him."

"What?" Aradia's jaw dropped and she glared. "What an asshole! If you don't want to date him, you don't have to."

"Exactly. Treating me like a jerk over it is just pathetic."

"Very pathetic," Aradia agreed, giving Azula a squeeze. She had no doubt that Azula had provoked some of it, but she was obviously on her moirail's side as a default.
