Arrested

Azula walked briskly down the dismal, badly-lit prison corridor towards Hakuba's cell. He had been isolation for nearly twenty-four hours at this point- the only break in monotony being the twice-daily plates of food slipped through the door of the small, windowless room. She had handed him off to the prison guards immediately after returning with him to the Fire Nation, instructing that he be put in a regular cell, unbound and undrugged. She had no reason to believe that he was dangerous- after all, apprehending him had been quite easy.

Upon reaching the cell, Azula easily unlocked the door and slid it open.

OOC: So we've assumed Hakuba's arrest (the reasoning behind it is here)- now she's brought him back to the Fire Nation, where he's in a prison cell. Magic Kaito people, feel free to notice his disappearance at any time. :)

The prisoner sat perfectly still, his blonde hair gleaming from the pale light cast by the lights in the ceiling. He seemed calm and confident.

Curiosity always was his sin, Hakuba mused. Even now, when he was supposed to be worried about his future or lack of it, the detective just wondered if he was going to miss another of the Kid's heist. He looked at the plain cement walls and shivered for a moment, the cell had a constant chill to it, and it was always damp. He was more worried about pneumonia killing him than the princess; at least the fire was warm.

He don’t had his clock with him, but he didn’t had lost all track of time though, he was pretty sure it had been a day, 3 hours and 30 minutes since she was captured. He was more bored than anything and wondered about what Akako would do when he notice him missing. Nothing much drastic he hoped. But who knows for sure with a witch. His witch. That though made him smile. The blonde heard how the door was open and he couldn’t help but to tease, earning an amused look.

"I'm flattered by your interest in me, princess Azula, but I'm taken, you know."

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Ignoring his words, Azula shut the metal door with a clang.

"Let's get down to business, shall we?"

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 04:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Hakuba stood up and leaned against the wall, his hands on his trousers

"I don't think that you and me have any business to discuss, princess Azula."

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 04:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Azula stood in the doorway, her face impassive. "Well, then, that's a shame. After all, I'm sure you don't want to be stuck in here forever, do you?"

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"As long as I'm still human and not immortal, It's not going to be forever." he replied, sharply.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Azula allowed the slightest hint of a smirk. "So you're perfectly willing to stay here until you die, all so you can keep your records on me to yourself?"

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Hakuba grinned in response.

"Oh, I'm a stubborn person. I will not tell you about the records, no matter what. And even if I die here, which I doubt, that doesn't mean that the record will be lost."

Hakuba moved her head down a bit, the smile grow wider and the shadows obscured his face. "I have a security plan installed on Doyle, programmed to start running if something happen to me."

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
She raised an eyebrow. "And this security program would...?"

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Hakuba looked up, smiling like a normal person again.

"Oh, but if I tell you that it will ruin the fun, princess Azula."

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 05:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Azula rolled her eyes. His words were slightly worrying (not that she let that fact register on her face and in her voice), but she felt confident that, with him out of the way, she would be able to eliminate any such problems.

Perhaps she would try a different tactic. "Really, it's too bad that you don't seem willing to give in quite so easily," she said liltingly. "After all... that program of yours did mention something else. A girl, wasn't it? How do you think she'll feel when she learns that you're willing to abandon her for the sake of some unimportant information?"

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)

Ah, that was interesting, Hakuba thought. A change of strategy. Too bad he was so used to do talk to criminals and burglars to fell in such an easy trap.

"That girl you talk about is not the type of girl who gets upset and cry on a corner. She's more the type of girl who will rip out your heart in vengeance. So, in the case she thinks that I was cheating on her or leaving her, instead on pass my time here as your prisoner, she will come to find me. To rip out my heart, maybe, but she will come."

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 05:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Unfortunate. With most people, the love trap worked like a charm- Azula had had fearless soldiers blubbering at her for forgiveness the moment she mentioned that they would never see their wives again.

"So you're hoping to be rescued, hmmm? Unfortunately, that is not going to happen. Fire Nation prisons are notoriously well-protected; we haven't had a breakout in fifty years." A lie; there had been that incident at the Boiling Rock less than a month ago. Still, it wasn't likely that he knew that- and even if he did, it just made her need to look over his records all the more greater. After all, news of the Boiling Rock prison breakout hadn't been released to the public.

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"I can wait another fifty years." Hakuba shrugged.

"And I didn't said that I was waiting to be rescued, didn't I? I just said that that girl is not like how you think she is. There's a lot of ways of love." He was, in fact, worried about Akako trying to do something stupid, but it wasn't like he could stop her while he was in jail. "Talking about love and lovers. You father already chose you a husband? What Ty Lee thinks about it?"

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
"We're not discussing that," Azula said smoothly. "We're discussing just how we're going to get you out of here. You only have one means of escape- and that is me willingly allowing you to leave. You would do well to remember that."

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
With a small snort, Hakuba incorporated, his hand still on his pockets, and approached the young women in a slow move. He stopped in front of her, not enough to be considered dangerous (he know about Azula's powers, and he was not suicidal after all) and just stared at her with knowing smile.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Azula didn't flinch; didn't even blink. She had been threatened by some of the more foolish prisoners before- and it had not ended well for those who actually followed through.

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 06:14 pm (UTC)(link)
"Do you want to know something, princess Azula?" The boy murmured, in a calm soft tone.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
"You know what I want to know."

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
"I can't tell you that. But I can tell you this." He looked at the princess right with a cool glare. "You cannot carry that much contempt without it becoming malignant, until you're going to be all alone in a room full of shadows and all you're going to have is the memories of all those people's lives you have destroyed."

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
She raised an eyebrow. "Poetic. And I suppose that if I actually felt guilt that idea would be a bit unsettling.

"However, we need to get back to the subject at hand."

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
"You don't need to felt guilt to lost your mind, princess." Hakuba shacked his head."You're not to have that information, not by me, and since I'm the only one who knows how to unlock it, looks like this conversation is pointless."

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 06:36 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm not going to lose my mind," she said curtly. "You, however... alone in a dark, dank cell... I wouldn't be so sure."

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm too old to be afraid of the dark princess Azula. Besides, maybe I'm more scary than the things crawling in the dark." Hakuba eyes glinted , the ceiling’s shadows dancing above him. Maybe I already lost my mind, who knows? A crazy man have nothing to lose."

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Azula turned, as if to go. "Well then, I see I came to visit you too soon. I'll be back in a couple of days- perhaps by then, you'll have rethought things." If he hadn't, more drastic measures would have to be taken. The cooler cells were normally reserved for firebenders, but...

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
"We have a date then, princess Azula." Hakuba laughed. "Your first one, I bet."

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yes, we do." Azula ignored the second comment- this was business, after all; she wasn't going to indulge him. She opened the door and walked out, letting it slam shut behind her a bit harder than was necessary- knowing that the clang would reverberate hollowly throughout the empty cell, reminding Hakuba just how alone he really was.

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"Such a manners for princess." Hakuba murmured.

He had to recognize that he was a bit surprised, she was nicer than he expected. It a matter of time. He smiled again, even if he didn't really feel like doing it. He knew more than anyone how to deal with time.

OOC

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-09-30 07:41 pm (UTC)(link)
XDD Oh Hakuba, that's not niceness- she's trying (and failing, most likely) to manipulate you! <3
