A question for anyone who lives on a world that has "AA batteries": how common are they, and how long do they usually last? Seeing as how they power most of my off-world technology- including my newly acquired digital camera- I figured it would be a good idea to find out this sort of thing.

There's apparently supposed to be a heavy thunderstorm tonight- it's odd; we tend to get most of our storms in the summer. I blame this snow. Though, really, I can't say that I mind- I love thunderstorms.

OOC: Because winter thunderstorms are awesome.

AA and AAA batteries are probably the most common battery sizes for consumers today. Lithium AA and AAA batteries are fantastic in extreme temperatures, it will eb useful for you considering the weather of your nation. How long they last depends on what are you using them for.

It will be more useful for you if you use Rechargeable AA batteries, but don't have electricity at all on the fire Nation, right?

You have a digital camera? Oh, so much interesting thing you can do with it.

It depends on the brand. ShinRa brand last for about six months, and are widely available.

I asked about AA batteries, that was all. And we don't have "extreme" temperatures here; I don't know where you got that idea.

Yes, I do- I bought one from Apollo.

I'm not sure how much I'd trust "ShinRa brand", but I'll look into it.

It's not snowing anymore?

Nice.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-12-20 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
It is, some, but I certainly wouldn't consider a bit of unnatural snow important enough to warrant consideration in this matter.

Batteries are everywhere in my world.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-12-20 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Good. I doubted that they were rare commodities, but thought it best to check.

[personal profile] pandorabox 2008-12-20 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
... guess so. How do you plan on getting them, though?

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-12-20 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Going to a world that has them, of course.

[personal profile] pandorabox 2008-12-20 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Seems a little tedious, but alright.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-12-20 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Tedious? How so?

[personal profile] pandorabox 2008-12-20 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
You'd have to worldhop somewhere every time you wanted batteries. Unless you just bought a whole bunch at once or something.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-12-20 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I could. And besides, it's not as if worldhopping takes much time and effort anyway.

[personal profile] pandorabox 2008-12-20 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Eh, that's true, depending on your method. Where'd you get a digital camera anyway?

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-12-20 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Apollo. One of the gods.

[personal profile] pandorabox 2008-12-20 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
... is selling digital cameras.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-12-20 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
He posted about one on the main community; I was interested. We arranged a trade.

In Archades, we use crystals rather than these "batteries" from other worlds. They run much longer, almost to years.

[identity profile] shinra-pwnsjoo.livejournal.com 2008-12-20 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
ShinRa products kept Ty Lee from dying.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-12-20 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
And on my world, we don't use anything at all. Unfortunately, neither of those options is helpful in this case.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-12-20 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
So could any other hospital equipment. We probably could have kept her from dying here, if it weren't for the cold.

[personal profile] pandorabox 2008-12-20 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Which is how most sales go.

It's just... odd.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-12-20 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Why so?

[personal profile] pandorabox 2008-12-20 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a god. Selling electronics. It's just... weird.
