(no subject)

I have come to the conclusion that Christmas is idiotic.

On the twelfth day of Christmas, peoplesprincess sent to me...
Twelve shia_o_shimas lightningbending
Eleven pinkmoodswings ruling
Ten flamingofudas a-fighting
Nine justin_of_parms commanding
Eight hiddenqueens a-lightning
Seven fuzzyrats a-lying
Six nicecollarbones a-firebending
Five se-e-e-ervants
Four not eclipses
Three giving orders
Two hot baths
...and a manipulation in an astronomy.
Get your own Twelve Days:

In 2009, peoplesprincess resolves to...
Cut down to ten not eclipses a day.
Take evening classes in logic.
Pay for my servants on time.
Tell my family about giving orders.
Go commanding three times a week.
Admit my true feelings to wildest_card.
Get your own New Year's Resolutions:

Fire Nation holidays are much more purposeful- and probably a good deal more enjoyable, too.

TRISH SUGGEST THAT AZULA GETS HER EYES CHECKED.

What sort of holidays do you have in the Fire Nation?

THAT'S WHAT KAITO SAID.

People on Gaia take this event very seriously, Azula.

TRISH THINKS THAT KAITO HAS A POINT.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-12-13 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
National holidays are all centered around the celebration of important historical events.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-12-13 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Your point?

[identity profile] roseandsparkle.livejournal.com 2008-12-13 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I see! We have quite a few of those here, as well.

[personal profile] pandorabox 2008-12-13 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
But Christmas is great!

WELL AZULA THINKS TRISH FAIIIIIIILS.

[identity profile] shinra-pwnsjoo.livejournal.com 2008-12-13 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Do not call it pointless. Fire bender or not, the Planet does have this tendency to make people that insult it pay heavily.

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-12-13 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Because of the fact that less agricultural work needs to be done during the winter, as well as people expecting longer days and shorter nights after the winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere.

I just wanted to explain you what was it about for some people. Kuroba don't see it that way because Christmas in Japan is quite different from the Chrismas celebrated in most countries in which the population has a large percentage of Christians or a Christian heritage. Only 1/2 of 1% of the Japanese population is estimated to be Christian, with the majority of Japanese being tolerant of all faiths: Buddhism, Christianity, Shinto, etc. In spite of this, the Japanese are great lovers of festivals and celebrations, including Christmas.

December 25th is not a national holiday in Japan, although December 23rd, which is the birthdate of the present emperor, is. My father is Japanese, not Christian, but he celebrates Christmas. My mother is British and Christian, but she never liked celebrations like that much.

(ooc: and he's not really answering the question about if he is or not Christian >:3)

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-12-13 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Tsk. Here we go.

OOC: Wait until she finds out he got Ty Lee into it in that thread in her journal. XD

[identity profile] tyki-tock.livejournal.com 2008-12-13 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not a fan of Christianity, partly because the disciples of God and his son (Jesus) have done quite a lot to piss me off lately. Like nearly getting me killed. I certainly have no interest in celebrating the wonderful things he did in his life in the name of his murderous father.

It's a sore point today. Rather like the large sword wound in my chest.

However, I do intend to celebrate Christmas in an entirely secular fashion, this year. I've discovered that in modern times it has lost much of its religious connotations and that pleases me greatly. I intend to indulge in the rampant commercialism destroying the fabric of society.

As such, look for a rather large box to be delivered to your palace in a week or so.

I'm just explaining the reason of celebrating to her, I never said that I believe in all that.

TRISH THINKS THAT AZULA IS JEALOUS ~

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-12-13 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
You're threatening me because I might call your little solstice holiday pointless.

[personal profile] pandorabox 2008-12-13 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
What'd you expect? It's a great holiday. With cookies and lights and tinsel and exchanging present and everything! C'mon, it's great!

I think Ty Lee is really excited about it! You should get her something.

((Mwahaha~))

[identity profile] tyki-tock.livejournal.com 2008-12-13 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh good. It sounded like you did, I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions.

[Locked]
I owe you about five billion, by the way. What can I do once I get out of this damned hospital to make it up to you?

[identity profile] shinra-pwnsjoo.livejournal.com 2008-12-13 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I said the planet would. On Gaia, the planet is what connects us to each other, it has thoughts, feelings and emotion.

[identity profile] clockmaster.livejournal.com 2008-12-13 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Good.

You should be really powerful then. But after all, you're a demon, right?

[identity profile] fillmydarksoul.livejournal.com 2008-12-13 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, stop babe. You're making me blush - but yes, I am a demon.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2008-12-13 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
That doesn't merit a celebration.

Well. You're just a wealth of information, aren't you.

AZULA TOTALLY IS IS MOST DEFINITELY NOT JEALOUS, FOR SHE IS PERFECT AND PERFECT PEOPLE HAVE NOTHING TO BE JEALOUS OF. <3
