You're all fools. I can't imagine why any of you actually believed me.

OOC: For anyone wondering about the icon choice- I'm not going to have her get completely irrational and paranoid the way she did in the finale (think "The Southern Raiders" instead). But if you check the icon keywords... yeah. She is "slipping" a little bit. She recognizes that and wants to prevent it from getting any worse... so since a mind-wipe didn't work the first time around, she's totes going with suppression and self-delusion. DX

"What are you smiling about?"

And just as quickly as it had come, it disappeared. "Oh, nothing. Though really, you shouldn't be talking about me being in denial."

"How so?" Please explain it to me, Princess. Bless me with your noble wisdom."

"Because." She paused to pick up her papers once again. "You are naive."

"I am neither in denial, nor naive'," he said, "You're the one eschewing closeness to your friends for stupid reasons that are in your head. Ty Lee is a nice girl."

"Ty Lee is far from nice. And while my reasons for eschewing her are my own, the fact remains that she did try to use and manipulate me."

"Maybe you just midunderstood it, Azula. You have a bit of a temper."

Azula waved a hand. "No. She admitted it outright. But really, it doesn't matter, because I told you that I'm not going to discuss this." She walked back over to the bed, and- once again- picked up the war reports.

"MIST FINER!"

The strike of Johnny's sword could be seen by those with well-trained senses, but just barely more than a blur. It was out and back in its sheath within the space of a breath. In its wake, her entire set of reports have been sliced cleanly into four pieces.

"As you were saying?"

Azula sputtered in shock for a moment- but only a moment. After all, she didn't need to give these particular reports back. And they were still readable.

Gathering up the papers from the floor, Azula gave Johnny a piercing glare. "You are really not amusing me. And this behavior certainly isn't going to get you what you want."

"Nor will it get me to go away. I've fought rampaging bio-weapons, you think a spoiled Princess has a will stronger than mine?"

"Yes, actually. And I'm not spoiled."

"You are spoiled, based on everything I've seen."

"Then you haven't seen that much," she said curtly.

"I could say the same of you. I've a bit more worldly experience than you do, I'm willing to bet."

She shot him a sharp look. "I meant that you haven't seen that much of me."

"And I doubt you've seen enough of me to call me naive. You've never been to my world, to my ship. You haven't seen near the horrors I have. What do you know?"

"You doubt that I do not care for people. Despite all that you know about me and what I do, you still doubt. That makes you naive."

"Because I know that's not true."

"I rest my case."

"You're just in denial about things, Azula. I don't know what made you like this."

"That's always everyone's explanation when they encounter a situation that they don't like. I'm just in denial; this can't possibly just be the way I am. It's pathetic."

"The only one acting pathetic right now is you, Princess."

"Oh? I'm not the one who came into a princess's room uninvited, and is attempting to prevent her from getting any work done."

"Because I want you to PUT DOWN your damned work and talk to me like an equal."
