You're all fools. I can't imagine why any of you actually believed me.

OOC: For anyone wondering about the icon choice- I'm not going to have her get completely irrational and paranoid the way she did in the finale (think "The Southern Raiders" instead). But if you check the icon keywords... yeah. She is "slipping" a little bit. She recognizes that and wants to prevent it from getting any worse... so since a mind-wipe didn't work the first time around, she's totes going with suppression and self-delusion. DX

"Hey, hey! Johnny is naturally young at heart! Games are one of the things he is best at. Besides, I'm only going to keep bothering you until you accept defeat."

He crossed his arms and couldn't resist a small laugh.

"Or perhaps a kiss would take your mind off things more than a fight?"

[OOC: XD it's fine. I actually prefer 3rd person prose for people in the same room and scenes. I just usually make a separate log for it, that leaves off from where they talked. This is totally fine.]

"I don't accept defeat. And I don't kiss people." That wasn't strictly true; she had kissed people in the past (not for romantic reasons, of course; it was always a power play)- but she saw no reason to do so now. Unless...

Of the handful of people that she had kissed over the course of her life, one of them had been Ty Lee. Given this, it was possible that one could consider it logical to say that she had done so because she cared about Ty Lee- and that just wasn't true, of course. But she needed a logical argument to prove it. And what better argument than to kiss someone else, here and now? A kiss was nothing special, especially from Ty Lee- she knew that. So why not prove it?

Hm. She would certainly consider it.

"Why? Humans shouldn't shun contact, Azula. Even close friends can kiss. Much like embracing another, it's a sign of closeness or openness. Sometimes not even that, it's a greeting in some nations."

He removed his hat and put his sunglasses away, pulling a chair over by her bed to sit on.

"And you don't accept defeat, even if you are defeated. That's denial. Something you seem good at."

She deftly ignored the first part of his words, still perusing the documents. "You haven't defeated me."

He watched her in her work for a moment, then a small smirk crawled over his mouth.

"This is the first time we've really had one-on-one time, of course I haven't," he shrugged, "I'm not going to press the attack against the weaker sex, naturally. It would simply be rude. Of course, there are numerous ways to claim a victory."

Azula huffed just slightly at his comment about "the weaker sex"- honestly, the vast number of off-world people who made the assumption that she was weak was simply mind-boggling- but said nothing. She was already slipping into a mode of intense concentration- focusing solely on the papers in front of her, and tuning out his voice entirely. Of course, she would snap out of it instantly if he raised his voice significantly or made any sudden movements. No one could say that she wasn't alert at all times.

He made a move to snatch her paper again, dashing toward the bed.

She shot a fireblast at him, not bothering to look up.

Johnny rolled to side, catching the bedpost with his arm and swinging completely around it, to land on her bed feet first with another grab for the papers.

"It's not quite so easy, my lady!"

Oh, he was irritating. Azula kept the papers out of his grasp, and gave him a sharp shove- though she wasn't sure how much it would do; she had to admit that he was most likely stronger than she was.

He caught her arm as she pushed, locking in a strong grip. He continued her momentum, rolling them both off the bed and onto his feet. In a flourish of movement, he pulled her into a tango stance.

"Ah, but it simply does not do for a lady to lead the dance!" he laughed, pulling her across the floor, "One must obey tradition, after all!"

She dragged her feet, making herself a dead-weight in his arms- and tilted her head upwards to breath fire in his face.

He stretched out his arms the moment he felt the energy swell inside her body, and threw her into the air to avoid whatever attack she might be planning.

"Such a fierce voice, Princess," he said, jumping up a moment later and catching her cross-wise across his arms, "Perhaps we need to extinguish that fire a bit. It can't exist in a vacuum, right?"

He quickly pulled her head up...and locked his lips against hers.

She allowed it.

His reaction would probably be amusing.

This was strange. He was absolute certain that would set her off. If he could get her to lose control, there was a chance she'd reveal more of what was going on in that scheming head of hers.

"Hm...Quite shrewd," he said, breaking the kiss for a moment, "It would seem you're no stranger to a kiss."

"I'm fifteen years old," she said, using that as an opportunity to yank herself away from him. "Of course I've kissed people before."

"And have you felt nothing for any of them?" he asked, following close in step.

She waved a hand. "Of course not."

He grasped her hand. Not hard, but enough to let her know he was serious.

"I don't BELIEVE that. I will not. Something must have happened, some misunderstanding, SOMETHING. Just tell me everything that made you come to this conclusion."

She pulled away- quickly enough to let him know that she was serious.

"Nothing happened. I simply do not care for people. None of your idiocy and misplaced naivete will change that."

"What?!" he said, his eyes practically burning. In a flash, he was directly in front of her, barring her path, "I am NOT naive'!"

She smirked, but said nothing more. For the moment.

"What are you smiling about?"

And just as quickly as it had come, it disappeared. "Oh, nothing. Though really, you shouldn't be talking about me being in denial."

"How so?" Please explain it to me, Princess. Bless me with your noble wisdom."
